“If you remember well, I told you I had two proposals as at when I was about choosing Jerry,” Sarah said while Sophia nodded. “That was where I made the mistake. I chose the wrong man because of what I could see, I was led by my sight only.”  The Lord said to me “if you hadn’t left my presence, you could have discerned rightly”. Hmmmmm, “that’s absolutely true,” Sophia said, she continued with a quotation from the Bible, “while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”. “Yeah, Jerry has issues but you could have escaped being a victim of his issues if you had seen the things that are not seen.” Jael spoke up at the bar as she walked towards them, “and the things that cannot be seen can only be seen in the unseen, that is the secret place’’. I am most grateful to God for Sarah’s restoration, the strength to stop the wedding plans, and the vigor and the passion for God that she exudes now while she waits for the right man. There are a number of lessons I have learnt personally from her story. Sophia asked that Jael share the lessons with them.

“The spiritual outlook is the actual description of things. As Christians, we must learn to describe people and physical things spiritually and not just physically. You remember that the Bible says ‘even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light’, so it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness”.  Also, the secret place is where one can sharpen one’s ability to discern the spiritual outlook of anything or person. This is one reason why satan throws things at us in order to distract us from the secret place, consequently, strike us. You remember also that the Bible says: “they that dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”. Our covering is in the secret place, hence, we must see to it that nothing takes us out of the secret place.  Additionally, if we make mistakes, if we get distracted by our pursuit for things: marital or financial stability, in anything whatsoever, and we involve God early enough, He would still rescue us. Moreover, He doesn’t take delight in our sadness. However, we must trust Him to turn the situation around for our good. These are the lessons I learnt,” Jael said. Sophia responded, these are great lessons to apply to every aspect of life, not only in marital matters. The call of God to us for fellowship is no doubt for our benefit. Yeah, Jael and Sarah chorused.
