Gist is a big thing in our society today as most people want to be updated on the latest happenings per time. Unfortunately, happenings such as rape, fraud and terrorist attacks seem to be the most trending. Evidence of this is seen in the global Covid’19 pandemic which became trending gist within a short time. The truth is that the afore-mentioned happenings are propagating a kind of news impacting the lives of many negatively in that it brings sadness rather than joy. In Isaiah 52:7, the Bible says, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good tidings, making peace heard; who brings good news, making salvation heard; who says to Zion, Your God reigns!” Consequently, the nature of gist a person spreads determines the kind of feet possessed by such a fellow. Bearers of heart shattering news have ugly feet while those of good news are beautiful.
Gist that spreads negativity will continue trending in our society if the people of God with beautiful feet do not take their place upon the high mountains of the world. By these I mean functioning as preachers of the gospel of Christ irrespective of where they find themselves. For instance, I know of a highly rated public servant who uses prophetic gifting to rescue people from everlasting damage. History talks about revivalists whose labours closed hotels and reduced crime rate in many towns across Europe in the early days of the last century. Dearly beloved of the most high, be encouraged, do not let the truth of Christ which you have received lay dormant. The world is waiting to receive eternal life from your testimony of Jesus. Remember, we are the only solution to the moral decadence in our societies because we bring peace to the world via the message of Christ. The world cannot find sanity in its social reforms and philanthropist activities rather, only the heart where Christ is enthroned is free from the agonies happening around us. It is time for people with beautiful feet to arise and spread the good tidings of Jesus Christ.
